EC 1224/2009 (engine power) compliance

Engine power certification and verification requirements for European fishing vessels are laid down in regulations EC 1224/2009 (Control Regulation) and EU 404/2011 (Commission Implementation Regulation). Member States are required to incorporate these requirements into national legislation. Effective implementation of these requirements contributes to sustainable management of fishing resources and a level playing field between fishermen from different EU Member States.
